Missy Cooke is an expert in the intersection between movement, healing, and play. Having trained in the flow arts & prop manipulation, martial arts, and colorguard, Missy uses her knowledge to help children learn the best exercise isn’t exercise at all, it’s just fun. For over 20 years, she has taught children and adults how to use their bodies to promote health and wellness, and to improve focus and concentration.
Using hula hoops, music, and dance, Missy travels across Michigan and the Midwest, hosting school assemblies for elementary youth, and corporate wellness programs. In addition, she teaches hoop dance workshops at festivals and community events year-round, and is host of the Mid-Michigan weekly flow jam, a meet-up of movement and flow artists from around the area. Missy founded the annual Michigan Hoop Dance Retreat in 2016, and continues to manage the event each year. She is co-founder, coach, and choreographer for the Smitten Spinners performance troupe, offering LED and fire performance shows for corporate and community events across the state.
